1. What are your fees?
2. What other expenses will be charged?
3. What are the benefits of using our services, rather than processing the license myself? 4. How fast can I obtain a license by using your service?
5. What is the Federation Credentials Verification Service (FCVS)?
6. What is the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)?
WE BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE PREFER ONE FLAT FEE: Regardless of the complexity of your application, we charge one basic processing fee of $700.00 for one license. Additional licenses requested at the same time will be processing at a discounted rate of $500. No "surprise" costs added later on!
Our basic processing fee covers: - compensation for our personnel, long distance calls, and postage costs
In the agreement we send to you, we will outline the state license fee, and the fees required to purchase any supporting documentation, such as scores and license verifications. The expense will vary according to the state, and your particular background. Examples of expenses the you will need to pay in addition to our processing fee will be:
- the licensing fee charged by the Medical Board
- fees for licensure exam scores reports and profiles
- fees charged by the Medical Boards to verify existing licenses*
IF WE CAN GET YOU TO WORK EVEN ONE DAY SOONER, THAT WILL BE WORTH THE COST OF OUR SERVICE! In addition to saving you time and trouble, we can help you avoid costly delays due to technical errors. As complex and particular as many of these applications are, it can be easy to misinterpret an eligibility or documentation requirement. Even a small technical error can seriously delay your license. We have years of experience dealing with the Medical Boards, and know exactly how they want the paperwork prepared.
Be very wary of other services that make fantastic promises about how quickly a license can be issued. The time factor varies GREATLY from state to state, and from physician to physician. After we review your credentials and factor in the state license you choose, we can give you a realistic estimate of how long it will take. When using our service, the entire medical license application process averages 2 to 3 months for most states.
The FCVS is a division of the Federation of State Medical Boards. They collect limited documentation of your background, mainly: Identity / Medical Education / Postgraduate Training / Exam Scores. Once established, most boards will accept this documentation from their office, rather than directly from each specific source. That can be useful if you are an international graduate who has difficulty getting forms from your medical school. The FCVS can also be handy for telemedicine physicians who plan to obtain many licenses. But unless a board requires it, we may not recommend using the FCVS. We can often obtain this documentation directly from the sources much faster than the FCVS.
If the state you apply to requires the FCVS, or if you wish to use it when it is optional, we will process the FCVS application for you at no extra charge. Note that some agencies charge extra, as this is essentially a “second” application in addition to the state forms, which must still be completed even when FCVS is used.
The Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is a relatively entity., Their a goal is to make it easier for physicians who meet certain requirements to obtain additional licenses in other states that have agreed to be part of the compact. In order to be eligible, you must:
a. meet their requirements*
b. be licensed and living or working currently in a state that is part of the compact**
c. be applying to a state in the compact
When you initial contract with us, we will help you to determine whether or not you can apply through the IMLC. If you are eligible, you may be able to process the license on your own, as the compact process is pretty simple. We will provide instructions and let you decide. Note that all compact states require you to be fingerprinted. You must also:
In addition, physicians must:
Each physician is responsible for making a self-determination of eligibility prior to applying to participate in the Compact, and they must confirm that they understand the Compact rules.
